I think a great resource is our Caldecott Award winning book lists. Being one of the most prestigious yearly awards, these winners are well known and respected, but the readership of these books should be growing and growing. But as I look up many titles on the list (given out since 1900), so many books have been put Out of Print. Let's show some interest in them, and hopefully no more of these classics will go Out of Print.
One of the most interesting things about this award is that it can be won for many different reasons. Some author-illustrators pull off an innovative idea with a completely fresh look while other times the award is won by illustrators who have taken a classic and put a beautiful creative scene to the well-known words of our fairy tales. Let us see what these imaginative illustrators have to show us.
