7:00 pm   (doors open at 6:30)

We'll open our store on Thursday night to host David Rocklin, a Northbrook native now a resident of California.  David will have his second novel published this week by Rare Bird Books, a literary publisher out of Los Angeles.  The Night Language is a book of historical fiction inspired by true events.  Set in the court of Queen Victoria, a young Abyssinian prince is uprooted from his home during wartime and is ultimately sentenced to death for murder.  He finds solace and hope with his only friend and the eventual love of his life, a doctor from the battlefields who is his guardian.

David Rocklin is the author of The Luministand the founder/curator of Roar Shack, a monthly reading series in Los Angeles. He was born and raised in Chicago and now lives in LA with his wife, daughters and a 150 lb Great Dane who seriously needs to stay on his own bed. He’s currently at work on his next novel, The Electric Love Song of Fleischl Berger.
