Meg

After reading only kids books for years, I am now interested in many types of good stories, a main requirement being no "fluff". History and historical fiction are at the top of my list, and I also like the mysteries that really satisfy.

This book is by the same author who wrote The Glass Castle. While that book left me with my mouth often, this one left me saying, "now I understand." It is the back story for Jeanette Walls' life

Half Broke Horses is her grandmother's story. She is a survivor, fighter, and explorer, with spirit. She doeas what she must but always with a little extra.

The White Queen is a delicious book. It tells the story of Elizabeth Woodville, the white queen. She was part of the family that rules England before the Tudors.

I love historical fiction because I learn something while I am enjoying the book. There is an unsolved mystery and enough romance and treachery to keep you reading when you should cerainly be doing something else.

I can't wait for the next installment!
